Hello, and welcome to the homepage of drummer/composer Per Oddvar Johansen.


Born in 1968, he started drumming at a very young age (aroung three-four years old) He played drums in a schoolband from age 12, and was put behind a drumkit by his teacher almost instantly.


He has been a drummer from that day on.


Per Oddvar Johansen was educated at Trøndelag Music Conservatory, 1989-1992.

He has worked professionally since 1990, and has toured the world in countless different settings. His well-known tastefulness is heard on more than eighty released albums. He has won six Spellemannsprisen (Norwegian Grammy`s). Two with Vigleik Storaas, and with Petter Wettre, Hans Mathisen, Solveig Slettahjell and Christian Wallumrød.


He is one of Norway´s leading drummers, and currently works with Christian Wallumrød, Vigleik Storaas, Helge Lien, Ayumi Tanaka, Trygve Seim, Mats Eilertsen, Torben Snekkestad and others.
